» Poster design for GI JOE FEST 2008

It all started in San Francisco, when I came across the Gi Joe miniatures released by Takara called GI JOE"S GI JOE, released for the action figure's 40th Anniversary.
"How about a 12" GI JOE filming a 1/35 scale GI JOE?" I thought.
Well, after stopping at a hobby store and looking closely for 1/35 scale figures, I found the perfect set, made by Tamiya. A lot of painting, cutting and sending took place and finally I had the set built and the mini diorama finished.

The photo shoot, took longer than expected. Lighting problems mostly. But I think the results will speak for themselves. I also shot a little stop-motion for the opening of the West Coast Tour Reel. I allowed time for still photo shoots in between setups. In these cases I used flash and tried different lights. Here is the video clip, and here are some of the stills:

» Gio turns 36 years old

So, I turned 36 Last Wednesday. My argument that I'm not quite middle age is actually slipping away from me. Oh well. I still feel as good as I did through most of my 20's even though I may be a little bit bigger and grumpier. It sounds like a serious age and some people call it the age of maturity and completeness. Strangely I don't feel as such. First I thought that maybe I'm reaching the first half of my life but honestly speaking, I know that this is not relevant. What the heck, what matters is the present. Bring it on 2008.
