» South Dakota and the winter...

We took a road trip last Wednesday to the central west part of the country. Of course I brought my dolls along. Promotional photos are always nice to have. We first crossed Wyoming State, a long stretch of grass lands and straight roads. Devil's Tower (or Bear Lodge) was for sure a great location. You probably know the place for its appearance on the 1977 movie: Close Encounters of the Third Kind. I soooooo wish Devil's Tower was closer from Denver. What a perfect place to take G.I. Joes pictures. Mama Mia! We spent our first night in Deadwood, a casino town which serves as inspiration for the HBO's Series of the same name: Deadwood. Nice enough but really hard to find a decent restaurant. After a day of thrift shopping in Rapid City and outskirts, we made our way to Custer. A seasonal town, Custer had most hotels and restaurants closed for the winter. We stayed at the Bavarian Inn...

In the last day of the trip, Jenny, Sam and I visited Mt. Rushmore and the Wind Cave National Park. I'll let Jenny post a more detailed travel log on her weblog. For now, you can go look at some pictures here and here.
