» Turtle delight!

If there's something my ornate box turtles like more than meal worms, it's corn. Holy bologna, Batman! Once a week, I boil some corn and I sprinkle it with some calcium, so they can actually get some vital elements since corn is very poor on nutrients. They really chowed it down this time. But after a while, walking down to the kitchen, I spotted someone else eating the corn: a huge cricket! A few months back I bought some babie crickets to feed the turtles. I guess one survived, and it has been living around the turtles all along. And it's big! Compared to its counterparts (from the pet store) he (it) seems full grown. The cricket is missing a leg and half of its antenna, which means he was once (or twice) the choice for dinner (say, lunch or breakfast). But the thought of surviving in a turtle tank, for this long... Tried to take a picture of it, but our fellow survivor was too fast...Hopefully, its picture won't be something out of National Geographic...a turtlet regale!
