» Another summer day

It's funny how when you get older, the days, and weeks seem to roll by faster, almost like pilling up on each other. Wasn't wednesday yesterday?. I guess we always have something going on...something that needs to be done...When we were kids we didn't care, or we actually wanted the days and weeks to pass a little faster. Perhaps so we could have another birthday or so the summer vacation would come sooner. That's all we cared. Now if we could, we would be bidding for more time at E-Bay.
We went thrifting yesterday. Bought two copies of The Gods Themselves, by Asimov. So Jena and I are able to read the story at the same time. A bargain: $0.50 cents each. That was Jena's idea.
While she was looking for the books, I scored another figurine for my little doll collection:

A 1969 Scotish figure built out of auto bolts and nuts called: Wee Mac Nut...he...he...he!
And for my surprise this morning, I got a tomato ripening!

I can only hope that this Wednesday would go as slow as my turtles can move...

» Oh my Rock Star life...

I gotta say: it was a blast. We played a memorable sold out show last Saturday. The Hi-Dive was packed, with all kinds of people. From critics from the Westword to usual Denver hipsters. We played well. A minor problem with my cabinet head in the first songs got me off pissed, but helped me with my stage presence...he...he.
So here are a few shots of the event:

Josh and I posing for the Rolling Stone's Cover...

From the left: Josh's Mom, some chick and Mr. Novak

The poster...

I'm trying my best to look good for sound check...

Eli's girlfriend (Rebecca), and the blond who I forgot the name.

It was so dark...We had to use some flash for the pics...

After the show, we came back to my house to finish off a bottle of Knob Creek Bourbon...you can tell we had no problem doing it so.

Besides going to bed at 5:00AM on Sunday morning and having to be at work at 11:00AM, everything went fine. Jena did't make it. She had to open the shop. But I got her this morning with this one:

Isn't she a cutie?

» So...How can I help you?

Working at St. Mark's, you tend to meet all kinds of people. From the creepy dude that likes only a half a cup of coffee, to some really good artists. Stuart is one of the good ones. A photographer. So he took this one a while back, when my facial hair was only a little patch under my lips (the flavor saver...). Eli and I worked on the new Telesonique music last night. It's starting to take shape. We spend a bit of time looking for drum samples at Loops on Demand by Sony. Interesting site. The navigation and interface really tested my patience, but the content is super fresh. Well, out to work again.

» Superduper Monday

Since I have Tuesdays and Wednesdays off from work, Monday is actually my Friday. So, finishing up my weekend, we had a great show at The Thin Man, last night. Besides being told by the owner that we were too loud, everything went well.

We're going to Georgetown with my boss tonight. He bought a house there a few weeks ago. We're spending the night there, perhaps play some cards and drink some bourbon...

» Nothing to report

Another long week, and it's not even over. Anyway, this morning Blogger looked a little different. Spell checking, and a whole new interface...I can even change the color of my text without changing the code.  Well, that's just silly. The turtles are doing great. Since I created the new habitats, thy have been acting like turtles: taking baths, sleeping in the cave...fighting for meal worms.

Craig's Gallery openning was awesome. ISM is going to make it. At least that's what I wish. I forgot to take pictures, but I got this one at the PS Lounge:

» Accommodation changes...

It's amazing what a little research can do. I spent a few hours this afternoon, learning a bit more about turtles...Harold and Maude. Yes it's official. The little one is Harold and of course, Maude is the old lady. Anyways, had to make some modifications on their habitat:

That's right! A tunnel, or burrow. I had to create three different microclimates in the tank.

You can see here, that Maude liked a lot, she even went for a bath.

Well, even the other pet of the house shows some interest...

» And then my new roommates...

I got them yesterday. Two Ornate box turtles. You can take a look at them here, and you'll agree that they are the cutest things you ever seen. I haven't decided on their names yet, but I've been thinking about: Harold and Maude . I'm compeled to mention, (and edit this post...) that they perish by the thousands every year, that by no means I support the trading of Ornate turtles. When we got at the pet store, they were piled on each other, some even had their bodies covered in fezes, which brought insects to crawl in their skin and shell. I hope they make it here in my house. Certainly is better than the Pet Store. But my house is definitely not the wild.

» Le Grand Premiere

Ahhhh! It was super. I could not have asked for more. A huge crowd and an awesome response towards my movie. In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king was a terrific success. I was even compared to Kubrick (flattering but unrealistic). Even my archeologist friend Chris showed up:

It was kind of weird seeing my movie in a big screen, specially not knowing what kind of reaction the crowd was going to have. But when people got up and applauded it, I knew I had created something cool.

» Oh Bollocks!

I've been getting kind of bored without a pet. Pictures of my sister's dog (Cookies), and my mom's (Kika)...all over the web. And me? Oh, I got one too. Well, even if it's pretend:

» No fish

Yep, we went fishing yesterday again...and we did't get anything out of the water, well, maybe our lines. Mark Joseph came all the way from Boulder to hang out with us and we didn't delivered. Bummer.

» I'm sick...

It was a long 4th of July weekend. I pretty much worked through the whole thing. So
today when I left work, I felt like I deserved a reward. A big juice burger. Since work was all I did in the past days, I didn't feel like cooking. And I paid for it. Decided to go to the neighborhood pub and get me a fat one. It tasted ok...but in two hours I was kneeling by the toilet...argh! DON'T get a burger at Barricuda's

» Mustache disaster

God damned! I was trying to trim some of my mustache this morning and I ended up slashing a big chunk of it! What used to be almost a fu manchu, turned out to a pencil mustache John Waters style:

Well I'm gonna have to sport the new look for a while since I don't want to loose the bet. In another note, I designed new business cards a few weeks back, and they finally came. Got them printed through Vista Print. They turned out pretty good. Really cheap too. Cheaper than getting them printed in town.

I also organized a litlle space for playing music. It's not a lot of room but will do the trick.

» and it's friday!!!

I forgot Eli's birthday. It was Tuesday. So we went out last night...went to see Farenheight 9/11, and out for some cocktails at the Skylark Lounge . I don't have to mention...but I woke up really late this morning...God, the days just roll by, it seems. It's the end of the week already, and I've been thinking of a new face for my little home on the net...
