» PasteurizedIlk.com: The 10 Best of Summer 2004

PasteurizedIlk.com: The 10 Best of Summer 2004 is the latest post of my good friend Al. We met in Lake Placid, NY and then again here in Denver. But he's long gone, living in Boston right now. Welcome back Mr. Rehm...it's been a while since the last Super Bowl post.

» Back to normal

The trip is over. I'm well rested and full of good memories. So here is a brief description of the trip:
We left at 8:00AM Tuesday morning. Had a pit stop in Park County for a quick breakfast, then finished the drive to Valley View about 2:00PM. The place was founded by a hippie couple, so clothing was optional. They call it naturalism. Or if you prefer, a nudist camp. We soaked in the hot springs for hours. I fell asleep for about an hour and sun burned myself pretty bad. No big deal. Had dinner about 7:30PM and we didn't last very long...We went to bed. Next day started with some more soaking, followed by a session at the steam room (sauna). Had breakfast at 8:30AM, then soaked some more...and then we left Valley View, making our way to the Sand Dunes at 1:30PM. On our way we spotted this alien observation building in the middle of nowhere. Funny stuff. Then finally to the dunes. We got there about 3:00PM. The place is huge, and the site is incredible. Sand all over the place with a snow covered mountain in the background. At this point we were all the way south of Colorado. Think New Mexico. So we had to get going back to Denver...We made it back about 10:00PM.
Well, band practice tonight...and I still have to go to work at noon.

» Man...I'm tired...

It was worth every minute of it. Valley View is the bomb. We got back in Denver not to long ago. Jena is sleeping, and I'm here, like an idiot, still awake putting pictures on the photolog. I think this is it for tonight. Maybe more writing tomorrow...Sweet dreams, ahhhh!

» Ta, tata, tata tata ta TA!

Isn't it beautiful? Maybe not, but it's really exciting! Got it this morning. Eli actually talked to the UPS guy, 'cause I was at work. Isn't Ebay a great thing?
Well, I'll be away from my computers until Thursday. I can't wait to get out of town. Hopefully we will have some photos from the trip in here...So long...

» The snow is gone

Just like that. In less than 12 hours the snow on the ground melted away. My little guys are doing fine...They will be glad
with the sun, which is as bright as it could be this morning.
I received a tracking number for my laptop, and for my surprise, the package is already in Denver! Scheduled date for delivery is Monday, the 26th of April.

I can't wait, man....and I'm going out of town next Tuesday with Jena. Leaving for two days to the Valley View Hot Springs in Pueblo, CO. With my new schedule at work, we have two days off in a row. So why not go spend them in a pool of hot water somewhere outside Denver.

» A little more water

It's been snowing since last night, about 9:30PM. I was forced out of my bed to cover my plants with plastic. No complaints here. The more the better. Hopefully the water restrictions imposed by the city of Denver will be lift off or at least they will give us more slack...
I really don't know if the little green guys (my plants) are going to make it. Besides the snow, I've been having problems with the next door neighbor's dogs. For some reason, they really like to pee on them. I find dog paw prints every morning when I go water them. The other day I even found "food" buried by my rose bushes. I love dogs and all but c'mon! I should go take a crap on his mail box!

» I have a clone...

According to my mom, I have a clone up in Italy. He's name is GIOVANNI TONINELLI, here is the map:

I told my mom: I bet he doesn't have a cool mom like mine....

» bands

Explosions in the Sky
Mercury Program
Tortoise
This stuff has been on my CD player for a few years. I just can't get enough of them. The new Tortoise album is a masterpiece. Eli and I were talking on the porch last night, and we decided this kind of music should be called Ambient Rock. If you know them, you will know what we mean.

» Sweet!

My transaction with PC Pros was pretty smooth. The laptop is already paid, and should be getting here in a few days. Here is the page of the auction:
2.0 ghz Notebook / Laptop 512mb / 15" / DVD CDRW / NR. I talked with one sales rep. and the guy said he could not believe how cheap I got it for. The wholesale price is $1.100.00 dollars. He...he..

» E-bay fever

It started Sunday afternoon. Jena wanted an Ipod. So we browsed around. A little bidding, and we got it. Then a SLR digital camera. Eli (my roommate) got some eye glasses frames on Monday. And since I couldn't be left out, I got myself a new laptop yesterday. $560.00 for a Pentium 4 with the warranty still kicking. I can't believe it!

» Thank God it's not my house

Nao se assustem, esta nao e a minha casa
Last night I ended up sleeping at Jena's house. It was about 2:00AM, when she woke me up so I could see a really scary site. The front neighbor's house in flames. She actually was the one to call 911. Nice way to start the day, I thought...

» Hangover...

Last night after work, I had planned to go meet Laura Newman, the owner of Herb's Hideout. I got there at 8:00PM and found out, she was only coming at 9:30PM. So I had a couple of cocktails, and in minutes, started talking to a lesbian couple who are regular customers at the place. Really nice girls, around their 40s. Well, as it turned out, they were friends with Miss Newman, which made my approach a little easier. I gave her the "press kit", we talked a little...Hopefully, she will have a listen and perhaps give me a call....

» Hockey makes me sick....

So, StarTrek Enterprise wasn't on last night. Instead, a stupid hockey game. What a crock of shit!
And to think that UPN had announced the show earlier in the week, in its regular hour. Bastards... I know it sounds corny and all, but the show it's actually good, compared to its predecessors, Voyager and DS9 Well, thank God for"the Next Generation"...on syndication.
Enough of geek talk. My short film "in the land of the blind..." was sent yesterday to the Inflatable Duck Film Festival and Flex Luther's first press kit was sent out to the City Park Arts Festival. It feels good. More meetings this week with club owners...though. I'm stoping right now...I need to catch up with my e-mails....

» Oh, Man...

Sometimes I wonder if all this work is good for something. I'm really close to a nervous breakdown. Finished up the Flex Luther press kit. It's not even close from what I had imagined, but I think it's good enough (I say that a lot...):

I went for the "kraft" look. Couldn't find any kraft paper to print the cover letter, though...I also posted three excerpts of the new album here. I didn't post them on the website (FlexLuther.com), 'cause the mixing it's not done. And I don't want any of my band members crying just yet.
Thank God it's Wednesday. I should've slept more this morning, but I felt I had a compromise with my neglected blog. It's been hard man...Not to write, but to find relaxing time to write it. Anyway...I love you all!
