» Dazbog coffee sucks

We went to the Garden Center at Home Depot last Sunday, to get the plants for my front yard. Man what a thrill! I had a $350.oo budget, and if you think of plants that's quite a bit. It was like: How about 20 of this, 30 of that...Oh, look! ...let's get some of that, too...Capitalism in its explendor.
So Jena is coming over to help me dig some holes and finish the yard, which I started as a project last year around October. Since I ran out of coffee yesterday, I decided to go to our neighborhood coffee house. God, they can never make a latte taste the same. Everytime I get something there, it tastes worse. Anyway, done with my blog, time to play gardner...

» So I'm done

Yeah! It's all done. Besides a few black spots on the movie, everything looks great...(well...if you consider the equipment I used). I actually like the effect it brings to the picture...It's Saturday, and Jena and I are going to a couple of parties this afternoon. My bosses party, and Elizabeth's and Chris "house-warming" party. I honestly rather stay home and whatch movies...Hey little sister...I haven't forgot you. Can you guess what this is going to be?

So it's on the works. I even bother this time to model some custom hands and feet. It's going to be a little smaller than the KING. Ah, one more thing: I LOVE YOU!

» Cheap Special Effects

Ha..ha...ha. I had to take this picture. So the filming is done. I rendered the whole movie yesterday. Got a few problems. Damn it! Some of the special sound effects are gone. Saturday, or tonight if I find the time....
Oh! I'm going to the gym! Today...! Let's see how long this will last.

» Ahhh. Back to my routine!

I have things I like to do. I have things I do during the start of a day, that if I don't get around them, my whole day crumbles. I make a pot of coffee, I make sure I have enough cigarettes, and I sit in front of the computer 'till I get satisfied, or perhaps bored (which hardly happens). So after a hectic week, I'm back in front of the screen, with a big smile in my face.
I bought fake blood yesterday for the last scene of my movie. Amazing! It even coagulates! It's going to be great. Three more takes, a little fine tuning on my editing, and it's done. I started working on the cover of the dvd case, but I'm not inspired this morning. I'm going to finish almost a month before the dead line. Perfect.

» I'm getting too old to be a rock star, I mean, a jazz star...

I used to be able to put down a lot of liquor. I just can't do it anymore. I went out with the boys last night. Just trying to do the social thing. Three cocktails, and I was out. Gone. Drunk. It's pretty sad. I'm slightly hangover this morning, and I can't stop thinking about breakfast. But for now, a little green tea and a shower, would do the trick. And don't feel bad for me. It's my own God damned fault.

Wow! We played for a crowd of 400 people yesterday. It was awesome! And the bank account is getting bigger too...
Jena asked me if I would post a picture of some bitch, who asked her and Jessica to move from their table 'cause she had a big group of more bitches and so on...So here's a pic of Miss Piggy, which we nicknamed for obvious reasons:

If you see her around, tell her Giovanni told her to *uck off.

» Man...can the days get bigger? Please?

This week is just insane. So much to do, so little time. We got invited to play the Celtic Tavern again tonight. The short noticed invitation came yesterday evenning, just as I was ready to walk out the door to work. Got the whole band together on the phone in less than 10 minutes. Today is St. Patricks day. And the place is going to be packed.
Thank you Carmela, for the good luck, the other day...Was it luck...or can we be that good?

» One more thing you are not doing

So the show last Saturday, went pretty well. We played for two hours, $250.00 dollars. It's not bad, considering that last year, we played for an hour and a half at The Blue Mule, and we only got $50.00 bucks.
One of my dad's favorite movie is The Guns of Navarone. Ever since I moved to the US, I've been always curious about the original scripts, and books that originated classic movies, like ....Navarone. Which I only saw with doublings in portuguese. So I bought the books, read them and understood why their are so good.
Yesterday, afternoon, me and Jena watched The Guns of Navarone on DVD. For my delight, she asked me today, if she could borrow the sequel, which I have in its original paper back edition...

» I need a humidifier

The air is really dry here in the West. Since I moved to Denver, my skin doesn't do so well without lotion. The worst part, I thing is during the winter, with the furnace kicking hot air and making the whole house dryer. I've been waking up all stuffed up. A horrible thing. Anyway, the show went well last Wednesday. We played for about 20 people...*sigh*. The venue was actually pretty cool, the sound system was state of the art, and the drinks were cheap. But that does not change the fact, that it was a Wednesday, and we started to play at 11:30PM in Westminster... which is a residential area full of trophy wives and their husbands with giant SUVs.
Regardless, it was practice for our upcoming show at the Celtic, which is downtown.

» The bigger my short

The bigger my short film gets, the worse it gets to edit it. My poor desktop just can't handle all the video rendering. Today, after three tentatives, I gave up. It's driving me insane. AaaHHHHHhhh! Lazy day at 4th Ave today. Paid a few bills, watched "Resident Evil" on DVD, changed my bass strings for the gig tonight. Oh, man! We are going to play at 11:00PM! On a wednesday night! Who's going to show up? Especially when the show is in Westminster...(!)

» I can't do filters, Camel Lights

I had such a busy weekend...It just flew by. I finished shooting my movie, on saturday. Well, almost. One more scene... I tried to edit the dream seq. but no luck. The computer kept taking a crap on me. Of course I had to work on Sunday...*sigh*, but we had a nice lunch with Mr. Le Grand (Jena's dad) and Michael's dad (which I forgot his name). I guess the coolest thing, was going to the Butterfly Pavillion. I was attacked by a giant praying mantis (see photogerman for picture), but thanks to Jena, I got out alive...he...he... It was really cool. Seeing a Rain Forest, right in the middle of winter, right in the middle of Colorado, made me really happy, and homesick a little bit... Then I worked Monday morning, had band practice last night, and had to deal with my roommates fixation with Charles Bukowski. It could be worse. I'll take Bukowski anytime, before Linda Pastan...

I had a terrific conversation at the coffee house yesterday, with an old man, quite wise. A regular customer, which I never bother with...It's funny how good things, that are right under your nose, can pass undisturbed and ignored, day by day...(maybe that 10 million dollars I want, is hidden somewhere on my way to work...)

» Who said art is not work?

Man, as much fun as it is, I'm getting a little burned out. If I was doing this "for myself" it wouldn't be such a big deal. But when you're responsable for another five guys, it can be a little pain in the ass. Dale (guitar) got us a deal on Cd replication and printing. So we are going high class on this one. Not sure about the art...Looks good, but I still think it could be better. I always think it could be better. What's wrong with me?

» Tomorrow is wednesday

A month ago, I started to shoot a short film. For my surprise, it's actually coming it's way, better than I thought. My aim, is to take the movie to The Inflatable Duck Movie Festival. I don't wanna win. I'm not gonna win. To be honest, if I get in, that's already a big deal. So here are some snapshots:

I'm not giving the story line away. Not yet. Don't ask.
Yesterday, we (the band) finished the hardest part of our CD recording. Seven songs, a month an a half. I suppose it's not bad. And we get to play out again. Our next show will be here And, if finalizing our CD wasn't enough, the new Flex Luther web site is almost ready to go live. You can take a pic here

» CHAI TEA is for losers

Well, Since I spent the whole afternoon pressing the refresh button on the Blogger home page, and browsing all the fresh published blogs, I had to have some chai tea to go along. I didn't find much. But here are two blogs that cracked me up:
Ah Bollocks, by Blythy. Some funny shit about the Starwars message board and lol.
And my favorite one was: Daily Dirt and here are my answers:
1. Where did you go last night?
To a sushi bar down the street.
2. Had fun or you wished you had stayed home and do Daily Dirt?
The food was good. Wished I ordered take out and watched the Oscars.

3. Would you wanna hang out with me? (Specify why)
No. You ask too many questions.
4. So tell me, you have a crush on anyone right now?
Yeah....I'm in love with your mom...
5. Describe to me exactly what you're gonna to do right after this?
I'm bookmarking your blog, then I'll check my e-mails, then I wonder who writes all this questions, then I gotta go rehearse with my band.
